The Grace and Lace Letters, 1992-2004

A series of essays which outline my own
spiritual journey, from my earliest attempts to
understand my transgender life, through full
acceptance of my transsexualism, to practical
spiritual advice for handling our treatment by
our families, friends, and churches.

Two essays a year, as long as the Lord puts
ideas into my head!

"Grace and Lace" is the title of the Christian
newsletter published from 1990 to 2000 by
my dear friend and sister in Christ
Lee Frances Heller (1920-2000).
I continue the name to honor her memory.

Made in God's Image

Written by Ann Thompson Cook, and published by
the Dumbarton United Methodist Church
of Washington, D.C., this brochure illustrates the lives
of ordinary transsexual women and men.

Copies can be ordered from the site above,
and will be very useful in outreach to persons who
need a sympathetic presentation of gender identity issues.

The United Church of Christ

The United Church of Christ Coalition for LGBT Concerns

At the 2003 General Synod, the UCC approved

transgendered people, the other affirming the
participation and ministry of transgendered
people in the United Church of Christ.

Whosoever: An Online Magazine for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Christians

The Transcendence Gospel Choir

I am just in awe of this amazing group
and can't wait until I can be in San Francisco
to hear them perform live.

This discussion of Christianity and transsexualism
is written by Reverend Erin Swensen,
a Presbyterian minister in Atlanta, Georgia,
as a reply to the Presbytery which considered rescinding
her ordination but voted to sustain her.

Is Transgenderism Wrong?
is an essay by Rev. Lauren Hotchkiss, written for the Course In Miracles. Hint: the author is transgendered.

TG Christian mailing list
is an excellent source of discussion
and Christian fellowship.

During my transition, I participated in the Atlanta support group sponsored by Jerry and Lynn Montgomery.
Lynn wrote this article,
What Does the Bible Really Say About Transsexualism?
for the support group journal, Insight.
